That loss.....

was all on me guys. I didn't come thru when I needed to. I hate losing more than I get joy winning. So now that I am out of my depressed state from letting myself and the team down I can move on and think about our bigger goal....winning the championship. Sorry, I was just laughing at myself at how pitiful I hit today. I don't want to take anything from the other team but we should have whooped em. I know if we see them again in the playoffs we will. SOme positives from tonight's game, Ashley was crushing the ball, Jimmy and Bo were Gold Glover's in the outfield once again, Richie pitched good and we rallied back as a team. We definitely played well overall as a team but there is still work to be done. We definitely need to work on hitting to right field or find players that are willing to hit that way. If they want to pick on our girl, we should start doing the same to them. We need work on relays, hitting the cut off man, work on situational defense. I myself am guilty of thinking everyone understands where they need to throw the ball or where the play is. Let us know where you see we can improve, players let us know where you need help, so we can keep getting better. I believe with our pitching and defense, 10 runs will be enough win us most games. Let's just take it one game at a time. So let's get back to work, practice hard, keep getting better and focus on whoopin the shit out of the next team. It should be No Contest!

  1. Yay! Let's work on situational defense. Rich, Panda and Weh always give me and Meesh scenarios. You're right Elo, the boys tell me all the time- comes with experience, but willingness to learn and be corrected is key. And I have a lot more to learn about the game. Weh, Bum Leg Panda and Rich always keep me in check ; P. Turn and go! Turn and go!

Who's down for Practice tmrw?! lmao. Forreal tho. Who got them scandia tokens?!

  3. Hey NCB members...I want to thank Big Rich for inviting me to come join this squad & also thank the team for extending nuthin but love! I failed myself = failing the team. I cant even remember the last time I went hitless in a game. 2 be honest im usually super hyped up come gametime but now as an outsider looking in im just trying to be that piece of the puzzle. With more practice & more reps at the plate I guarantee my input will be an asset to the team. Like I told Rich, jus let me know where u need me & I will make it happen. I truly believe we was the better team last night & could have handled the game in our favor. Aint gonna lie, I have neva seen a curve ball in slow pitch softball>WTF?? but now I see what kind of mix there is in this league. Big ups to NCB!!

  4. I'd like to throw in my two cents from someone on the outside looking in.

When a team loses a close game, there is a tendency to nitpick all of the things they could have done. If only I caught that ball..." "How could I pop up that fat pitch?" "Why didn't I hit the cutoff man with that throw?"

Don't beat yourselves up over that stuff. The best ballplayers in the world make errors and mental mistakes so naturally, you're going to make them too.

I've been playing baseball since 1967 and softball since 1979. I've played on a lot of really good teams and some bad ones. One thing I've noticed over the years about the really good teams is that instead of seeking or taking blame, they pull together as a team to identify the areas where they had problems and aggressively attack them at their next practice.

I'm confident that's what your're going to do because you have good team chemistry. At your practice, I saw young men and women who enjoyed playing together, working hard to improve their skills and teamwork. I didn't see anyone who looked like they'd rather be somewhere else. (The latter is something I noticed on the bad teams I played for.)

Erick and Carlos -- I know you're disappointed in your performance because you're both prime time players who are used to getting the big hits when your team needs them. But disappointed as you may be, you can't let it weigh on you. It's a team game. You win as a team and you lose as a team.

Even though you lost, I saw a lot of good things in yesterday's game. You will build on them and put in some extra effort to pick yourselves up where things didn't go so well.

Another thing about the really good teams I played for -- a tough loss was often a wake up call that fired them up to play their best ball of the season.
