I got the news from Richie about the rest of the season being canceled. This is a raw deal. Where does the team go from here? Maybe a tournament?

10/20/10 Practice

Team, today is a reminder that we will have practice from 600 pm- 930pm at Madren Field Vallejo. These times will help polish up what we need to cover just to make sure we gave everything down to the T next week during playoffs. If you guys would like to come out to the park before 6:00, just let us know so we can come sooner. Thanks everyone and looking foward seeing everyone there.

Last 2 Practices

Hi everyone. Just wanted to get a show of hands who will all make it to practice this Wednesday.
IF not everyone can make it to practice, I wont reserve the park from 6-10pm. I would like to get everyone to practice the last 2 weeks to polish up before the playoffs. If I can just have a majority vote either to rent out College Park this Wednesday and Benicia Park Next Wednesday, or just rent out Benicia next wednesday. Please let me know. Thank you

Practice Wed (10/13) College Park

Hello Team. Today is practice at 430 PM @ College Park. AS mentioned we will practice fundamental NCB softball. I was watching our recorded games last night, and I see where I need some work, and some touching up. Please let either Erwin, Erick, Mark or myself know what you would like to touch up on or practice for today so all of us can be ready come playoffs. We are a team and practice as a team.

Practice Wed (10/13) and Thurs (10/14)

We have practice at College Park on Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday will be fundamentals of defense and Thursday will be base running and batting practice at 430. Please stretch out to avoid injuries, Our team cannot afford any injuries at this time of need. We will continue to be comitted as a team. Thanks team

Game 5 Video & Photos

I added some video to go along with the photos from the game with 2-K Swolers. They are available here. I'm still learning the best way to make a video recording of a softball game. I wasn't familiar with Richie's camera so the video I shot with it came out blurry. I also made some mistakes with my own camera. The way I set it up, the sun bleached out the early part of the game and the end was cut off. Still, I got some pretty good footage of most of the game.

Team NCB, Great game yesterday!! Hits were good, and our defense is outstanding!!! We continue to get better each practice and game, ESPECIALLY with our batting. Our women stepped it up again and played well. Aside, for a couple errors we were flawless all around. We treated this game like the playoffs and I'm sure we will score more runs when we see the 2kswollers the 1st round.... Let's just continue to stay focused and play like champions, other than that, I dont have much to say but these three words can sum it all :

TOMORROW'S GAME AGAINST 2K SWOLLERS

TEAM NCB. JUST TO GIVE YOU GUYS AN UPDATE. WE ARE FACING THE 2ND TEAM IN THE DIVISION, AND IS UNDEFEATED. THE 2K SWOLLERS IS THE OTHER TEAM WE WILL BE SEEING IN THE PLAYOFFS ASIDE FROM ENVY US. I AM CONFIDENT ENOUGH THAT WE CAN PULL THIS OFF AND BREAK THEIR 4 GAME WINNING STREAK.

JUST REMEMBER, BACK UPS IN THE OUTFIELD IS IMPORTANT SO WE DONT CAUSE THE RUNNER TO ADVANCE A BASE, TALK IT UP WHEN POP FLIES HAPPEN, AND FIND YOUR CUT OFF, EITHER SHORTSTOP IF HIT IN LEFT FIELD OR 2ND BASE IF HIT IN RIGHT FIELD. OUTFIELD COME RUNNING IN WHEN GROUNDERS ARE HIT IN THE INFIELD AND BACK YOUR INFIELDERS UP.

REMEMBER, WE ARE BETTER AND FASTER THAN ANY TEAM IN THIS DIVISION. LETS TREAT THIS GAME TOMORROW AS IF WE ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS SINCE WE WILL BE SEEING THE SWOLLERS AGAIN IN 3 WEEKS IN OUR 1ST ROUND PLAYOFFS. LIKE WHAT JIMMY SAYS "NO RESPECT NCB!!!!!". WE CAME TO GET THE JOB DONE!

OUTSTANDING!!!

Team [NCB], my hats off to all of you for playing a great game. I just wanted to highlight on Range's HR and James' triple that could have been an in the park grand slam. but the biggest highlights of the game was our defense. I still think we have the BEST OFFENSE in the league, BUT our defense cannot be matched...no doubt like gwen steffani lol. Everyone backed each other up and attacked the softball when hit on contact.

Great job on the backup Diana on 1st. After that back up, the outfielders were doing the same, rushing in the field when the ball was hit in the infield and everyone getting ready to turn singles into double plays.

For those that didnt notice, we barely gave up doubles during defense, which only allowed 2 runs in, one was by error and the other was by my walk. Even though we allowed 2 runs, we still played a perfect game because EVERYTHING we covered in practice was put on the field and worked precisely.

I'm glad everyone listened to the base coaches and did not force any pop ups, other than myself.
Mark, will be pitching to you guys more than I am just so I can get as much batting practice as all of u so I can contribute to the RBI's that everyone is putting in. Other than that, WE as a team has 4 more games left including the playoffs. I cant wait to dump the gatorade on Erwin when we take the title home and become CHAMPIONS!!!

Also, Meesh, great job playing catcher for the 1st time. You did great!!!

GREAT PRACTICE

TEAM NCB. GREAT PRACTICE! I HAD TO SIT IN MY CAR AND WATCH U GUYS PRACTICE. SOMETIMES JUST SITTING ON THE SIDELINES CAN TEACH YOU A LOT AND I WOULD SAY, WE ARE MUCH BETTER THAN THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON. THERE IS NO REASON WHY WE SHOULDNT WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIPS. WE HAVE ALL THE GREAT WEAPONS AND GREAT ATHLETES. I AM GLAD WE TOOK THE ENVY US LOSS AND TURNED IT AROUND TO BE MORE AGRESSIVE AND A LOT SHARPER ON THE FIELD. NOW, LETS JUST FINISH THE JOB AND BRING THE TROPHY HOME!!!! AGAIN, GREAT PRACTICE RUN EVERYONE!!!

First off, I am truely grateful with EVERYTHING that happend yesterday! What we need to work on shows how much better we can get come championships. Before I write a long post, Kudo's to Erick aka Blackmamba 88 for his comments. Our True test is every team we face, but our greatest test is OURSELVES. We play the 2 best teams in the league. NV US and 2k SWOLLERS. So come playoffs we know what we are ready for and who to look out for.

That loss.....

was all on me guys. I didn't come thru when I needed to. I hate losing more than I get joy winning. So now that I am out of my depressed state from letting myself and the team down I can move on and think about our bigger goal....winning the championship. Sorry, I was just laughing at myself at how pitiful I hit today. I don't want to take anything from the other team but we should have whooped em. I know if we see them again in the playoffs we will. SOme positives from tonight's game, Ashley was crushing the ball, Jimmy and Bo were Gold Glover's in the outfield once again, Richie pitched good and we rallied back as a team. We definitely played well overall as a team but there is still work to be done. We definitely need to work on hitting to right field or find players that are willing to hit that way. If they want to pick on our girl, we should start doing the same to them. We need work on relays, hitting the cut off man, work on situational defense. I myself am guilty of thinking everyone understands where they need to throw the ball or where the play is. Let us know where you see we can improve, players let us know where you need help, so we can keep getting better. I believe with our pitching and defense, 10 runs will be enough win us most games. Let's just take it one game at a time. So let's get back to work, practice hard, keep getting better and focus on whoopin the shit out of the next team. It should be No Contest!

PRACTICE WILL BE HELD AT THE USUAL LOCATION MADREN FIELD AT 530. IF GATES ARE NOT OPEN, PRACTICE WILL BE AT COLLEGE PARK. FOR THOSE COMING FROM RICHMOND, EXIT 37 GOING TOWARDS DISCOVERY KINGDOM. EXIT DISCOVERY KINGDOM, MAKE RIGHT AT THE LIGHT AND PARK IS ON THE LEFT SIDE ( ACROSS FROM THE GAS STATION). PARK IS RIGHT OFF THE FREEWAY SO YOU CANT MISS IT.

Almost Game Time!

All,

Our game is at 615. Please arrive a little earlier than usual due to the Napa traffic. I say 530 at THE LATEST!!! We will be facing a good team...again... so make sure we get our stretches and FULL team earlier than usual. The end of the day result is one team will come out undefeated... WHICH IS [NCB] of course!!! YEEE!!

NCB 28, Mama's Boy Auto Body 5

I was unexpectedly able to attend the game against Mama's Boy Auto Body. Actually, I was there for all three games played Thursday night. Of the teams I saw, NCB were clearly the class of the league. 2K-Swolers looked like they might be able to give you a good game but I think you can take them. N.V. Us didn't play this week so I couldn't evaluate them.

A Request For Photos

I don't have many pictures from the first game. Mariza took a few shots in the parking lot before the game but apparently there wasn't anyone available to take pictures during the game. If you have any friends or family members who can take some game shots, it would go a long way toward dressing up your team's website.

For now, the few shots I have will rotate on the home page and in the scrapbook window.

Most of you don't know me. I work with Richie at SSA and we're teammates with the PC Bricks in Richmond. Richie told me about your new team playing in Napa and since I know a thing or two about running a team website and blog, I offered to get your team set up. So, here we are.
